SO Coach's First Aid at Work courses are Ofqual Regulated. 

 

The one day Emergency First Aid at Work course is fantastic for lower risk work environments, such as offices, shops, etc.

 

The three day First Aid at Work course is great for all higher risk work environments, such as a garages, warehouses, factories, etc. We also offer the two day requalification course (your certificate is available and is in date).

HSE First Aid
Requirements

Low-hazard

e.g. offices, shops, libraries

 

Fewer than 25

At least one appointed person

 

25–50

At least one first-aider trained in **EFAW

 

More than 50

At least one first-aider trained in *FAW for every 100 employed (or part thereof)

Higher-hazard

e.g. light engineering and assembly work, food processing, warehousing, extensive work with dangerous machinery or sharp instruments, construction, chemical manufacture

 

Fewer than 5

At least one appointed person

 

5–50

At least one first-aider trained in **EFAW or *FAW depending on the type of injuries that might occur

 

More than 50

At least one first-aider trained in *FAW for every 50 employed (or part thereof)

Over a 3 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations.

 

Including:

  • assessing an incident

  • managing an unresponsive casualty

  • CPR

  • heart attacks

  • choking

  • head and spinal injuries, fractures

  • anaphylaxis

  • + more

Intended Audience

 

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a First Aider in their workplace.

 

It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations.

Intended Audience

 

It is possible to reduce the FAW course to 2 days in duration when requalifying.

 

Attending a FAW requalifying course is great when the First Aider can produce their current or previous, recently expired, FAW certificate.

 

The certificate should be in a format as accepted by the HSE and be in date or expired for no more than one month.

Intended Audience

 

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations.

 

It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Learners will maintain the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations.

 

Including:

  • managing an unresponsive casualty

  • CPR

  • choking

  • shock

  • wounds and bleeding

Intended Audience

 

If your 'First Aiders' have been on a course and it is coming up to 12 months their skills may have faded.

 

The HSE recommends an annual refresher to bring the key components of their original training back to life.

 

This half day (4 hour) session will provide the enhancement and maintain their readiness to act when needed.
