Currently, our MHFA England accredited Adult & Youth Mental Health Awareness Courses and the Adult Refresher courses are now being delivered via a virtual classroom. Our instructor, Simon, will ensure a safe environment is maintained throughout.

We are utilising Zoom or your preferred software to deliver the courses remotely. Offering an opportunity to support your team's development during these times.

Adult

Mental Health

Awareness Course

Mental Health Awareness Course:

  • An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma

  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues

  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing

  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

What to expect when you attend the four hour course:

Learning takes place during the four hour course, through a mix of presentations, group discussions and breakout room activities.

It really is a great fast paced course, at the appropriate pace you will learn how to 'Take 10 Together' and start a conversation.

We limit numbers online to 12 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn. 

Everyone who completes the course receives:
  • An MHFA manual to refer to whenever they need it

  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health

  • An e-certificate of attendance to say they are Mental Health Aware

 

Adult Mental Health Awareness courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards.

Resources are sent prior to the course when possible or retrospectively if not.

We utilise 'Plan B' if they are sent retrospectively.

Mental Health

Refresher Course

Mental Health Refresher

Empower Mental Health First Aiders and MHFA Champions to maintain their skills with regular Refresher training.

The four hour Refresher course will support your Mental Health First Aiders and MHFA Champions by:

  • Renewing their skills 

  • Updating their knowledge of mental health supports 

  • Giving them the chance to practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

What to expect when you attend the four hour course:

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

Enabling your Mental Health First Aiders and MHFA Champions to refresh their skills, the same way your physical first aiders do, is a great way to demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to treating mental health and physical health equally. 

We limit numbers online to 12 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn. 

Everyone who completes the course receives:
  • An MHFA manual to refer to whenever they need it

  • A workbook including ways to refresh your skills

  • An e-certificate of attendance to say they you are Mental Health First Aid Refreshed

 

Adult Mental Health Refresher courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards who has previously a attended a Mental Health First Aid or Champion course.

Resources are sent prior to the course when possible or retrospectively if not.

Mental Health

Awareness Course

Mental Health Awareness:

  • This introductory three hour session raises awareness of young people’s mental health.

  • It covers some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis

  • Skills to work more effectively with young people living with mental health issues

  • Ways to support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experiences
